Prefinished Hardwood Floor
All warranties in this “Limited Warranty Guide” are given only to the original purchaser of the product. Our warranties are non-transferable.
The limited warranties described in this guide are subject to product application. Limitations, disclaimers and exceptions described below are effective only for floors purchased after January 1, 2017. All warranties are effective from the time the floor is purchased from the retailer.
To be covered by our limited warranty (except for pre-installation defects) you need to have your tax receipt at hand and be sure to install the product perfectly, in accordance with our our installation instructions, which can be found at the bottom of our boxes or on our website.
Our guarantee certificate does not cover:
• Natural changes in the color of the wood due to exposure to light;
• Faults due to unsuitable environmental conditions;
• Scratches or any details caused by negligence, excessive or abusive water or sand;
• Faults caused by not following the manufacturer’s installation instructions, not using suitable installation materials, excessive humidity, discoloration, or termites in the subfloor;
• Improper installation or poor workmanship;
• Improper use and maintenance.
Occasionally, some defects in the flooring originating from manufacturing may occur. The market standard allows up to 5% of the total square footage containing substandard wood and/or with minor defects. All orders must be made with 10% more material than necessary, thus allowing for cuts at the installation site.
During installation, small holes and knots will be found. Use the cut parts to start or finish a row.
If recurring defects are found by the installer, or if they believe the loss is excessive, the installation must be stopped immediately and the reseller or Akafloor must be contacted through official service channels to review the problem before continuing the installation. Akafloor will, at its option, send new floors for replacement, credit you with the quantity of bad floors to make the correct grading, or refund the money. DO NOT INSTALL DEFECTIVE FLOORS. Floors that are installed are considered acceptable.
Akafloor WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COSTS ASSOCIATED with the installation, sanding, varnishing, or defects in floors that have already been installed.
Akafloor is only responsible for defects that exceed 5% in relation to the material purchased and will only reimburse this amount of material, excluding transportation, storage, installation, and other costs.
Wood is a natural material. No two or three pieces are the same, and no two trees are the same. The same wood species can vary depending on the area where it was planted. Akafloor is not responsible for floors that have a very large color variation compared to the samples provided by resellers.
All wood floors are slightly sensitive to oxygen and, over time, will change color, developing a unique hue. Many wood species, such as Jatobá, darken over time. Ipê, on the other hand, lightens. These variations are natural characteristics of wood floors.
The terms of this warranty begin to apply after full payment and completion of the product installation. The use of improper products other than those instructed by Akafloor may damage your floor and affect this warranty. Questions related to this warranty should be directed to where the product was purchased. If your reseller has not satisfied your question, please contact Akafloor through the official service channels.
